March 8, 2011 - LeJeune Steel Co. unites with Ryan Cos. to build the Mercy Medical Hall-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The center will provide advanced and integrated cancer services. It is expected to become the largest, most comprehensive cancer healing environment in Cedar Rapids.
"This new building will bring together the best cancer specialists for patient-centered care and research, so it is fitting that the center bears the Hall and Perrine names as they made it their mission to improve the quality of life for the people of Linn County."
Wisconsin Structural Steel Co., LeJeune's sister company, will fabricate more than 600 tons of recycled steel for the 85,000-square-foot, three-level center. The project seeks LEED certification upon completion.
The bowed building perimeter will be attained with a shop attached bent plate. Steel framing is required for the project's sun screens, entrance canopy and rolled members for the skylights. Detailing is underway to begin on-site activities this spring, with completion of the facility scheduled for spring 2012.
