June 9, 2010 - June 9, 2010 - LeJeune Steel Co. has once again made the grade at the University of Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. With final efforts being put forth on the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex, ground breaking occurred across the quad last month for the Anderson Student Center.
The 225,000-square-feet student center will require 1,000 tons of structural steel and 2,644 squares of metal deck. The Mansard style roof framing will require shop attached deck support plates on the sloped members. LeJeune recommended Bolted Moment Frame design allow for speed and precision during the field erection process.
The $66 million project will open in January 2012. Its features will include: three large dining areas, a four-lane bowling center, meeting rooms, permanent art gallery, convenience store and 115 underground parking spaces.
